Why I started KeCatalyst
I was writing copy and managing social media for healthcare businesses in my first year at medical school, self-taught from YouTube. By the time I graduated, the agency was what I wanted to do full time, so I never went into clinical practice.
As a third-year student I sat in a urology clinic with a consultant who’d built a genuinely useful app for doctors. “We just can’t seem to get anyone to use it,” he told me. I asked what they’d tried. Nothing yet. They were hoping word would get round.
I’ve had hundreds of versions of that conversation since. Healthcare isn’t short of good ideas or good clinicians. It’s often short of the commercial systems that get them in front of the people who need them.
That’s what we build. I’m also the author of Evidence-Based Marketing for Private Healthcare, and I still write every one of my LinkedIn posts myself.
